GR0877 Problem 30

PROBLEM STATEMENT: This problem is still being typed.

SOLUTION: (D) I bet one half of the test takers who did this wrong (according to the official practice book only 51 per cent of all 14,395 examinees who took the Physics Test between July 1, 2007 and June 30, 2010 answered this question correctly) simply mixed up choices (C) and (D).

How to always remember Hamilton’s equations: for a system with an external potential, F=-grad(V)

    Now just remember that F=dp/dt and grad(V) = dH/dq
